The Waxing Gibbous is the fourth phase of the moon. It lets us know that the moon is approaching its fullness. As the Waxing Gibbous phase nears its end we know we are finally halfway through our journey. During the Waxing Gibbous we often feel overwhelmed with exhaustion after being thrown an unfathomable amount of obstacles. Did you come out of the First Quarter unscathed or are you drowning in the carnage? However, that’s the good thing about living by the energy of the moon, it provides the much needed breathers in between periods of distress. Metaphysically the Waxing Gibbous provides the opportunity to rebalance ourselves. We already made all the changes in our life that we needed to, now we just wait for the universe to fall into place.
The Waxing Gibbous is associated with the Wheel of Fortune in Tarot, which I am sure is making my tarot readers let out a sigh of relief. It is a time for faith and positivity. Trust in the power of the moon, and that it will bring about the equilibrium you desire. (That is of course if you actually put in the work you needed to during the last three phases) Remember the Waxing Gibbous allows you to reap the rewards of the work you have put in so far this cycle, so if you worked hard the universe will bring you good fortune. If you’ve slacked off, don’t fret there is still an opportunity for you to start putting effort towards your goals during this time.

What to Do?
The energy of the Waxing Gibbous calls us to rebalance. It gives us a unique opportunity to connect to Mother Nature. Going on hikes, walking along the beach, sitting on a park bench, or even just breathing in (the somewhat fresh) air outside our homes. It is a good time to add some grounding exercises in your craft. If you are working with the moon, the moon asks us to refrain from spellcraft during this time. You will have plenty of time for that soon. Right now we are receiving energy and harvesting strength. Charge your magickal items, cleanse your crystals, practice your energy work, and just breathe. The Full Moon is approaching and you may want to take this time as an opportunity to plan out all you want to get done during full moon time.
Waxing Gibbous Babies
Waxing Gibbous babies are born with the innate ability to connect to the world. They are more likely to be empathic and care for those around them. Waxing Gibbous babies at their best encompass all the goodness of being ruled by the Wheel of Fortune. This does not necessarily mean that life makes things easy for them – after all they are still heavily influenced by the power of the third quarter moon, which throws countless obstacles at its children – but Waxing Gibbous babies are overflowing with potential. They are the ones full of hope for the world, who believe in the goodness of all people, and live by positive thinking. At their worst, Waxing Gibbous babies are indecisive and left longing for more. With the moon nearly full, Waxing Gibbous babies can mirror this with a constant feeling that something is missing. They can fall prone to perfectionism and may drain themselves early on in life in pursuit of the unattainable. We can think of this lifestyle as the Wheel of Fortune reversed. If you are a Waxing Gibbous baby, remember that this moon phase is about reaping rewards of your actions, so only you can ensure that you live the life of positivity.
